To promote the long-term health, academic, economic, and social well being of juvenile offenders and their families by breaking the cycle of poverty, substance abuse, and incarceration.
YTEC currently partners with the San Francisco district attorney, public defender, and school district to serve youth in involved in the San Francisco's juvenile justice system. The YTEC program provides behavioral Health and academic support at an SFUSD highschool. Together, they address drug treatment, educational and vocational needs of the students.
For every $1 invested in helping these youth with the YTEC education program, $7 is saved in costs associated with crimes and prosecuting offenders
Drug use is reduced by 94% on average for youth enrolled in YTEC's education program for six months or longer
Grade point averages increase for 85% of youth enrolled in YTEC's education program
School absences decrease by 72% per student per semester for youth enrolled in YTEC's education program
